The multi-storey car park built on the premises of the company Ernsting’s family in Coesfeld provides approximately 460 parking spaces for employees. A system of twin-lane parking ramps determines the shape of the elongated building, which comprises two parts and is approximately 140m long. The structure of the two three-storey buildings consists of steel columns and concrete-steel composite slabs with a span of approximately 14 m. Whereas, the timber facade creates a natural appearance and a bright and welcoming character to the outside as well as to the inside. It consists of slim timber profiles, which are screw-fitted to the back of steel frames. Industrially prefabricated they could be attached in segments. The folding gate, which is 10 m wide and 8 m high, is operated by a chain-drive to clear both entrance and exit. In 2007, the building was granted with the BDA award for exemplary architecture in Münsterland and the award „Deutscher Verzinkerpreis 2007“.
