Construction of the bank headquarters with a public forum

Project

The 5-story building with external dimensions of approximately 96m x 96m includes office and utility spaces as well as an underground parking garage. The office spaces are designed according to the concept of the "new working world", including flex offices, alcoves, silent rooms, think tanks, or open spaces. In the outdoor area, there is the forum - a public urban recreation space defined by the "forest of pillars" in urban planning terms. The building is divided into a five-story office area on the upper floors and a one to two-story area on the ground floor, which includes a reception, an archive, a wine shop, and an auditorium. The curved shape of the building encloses the square area of the forum and opens up to it.

A forest of exposed centrifuged concrete pillars

Construction of the pillars
The approximately 20-meter-high pillars serve as sun protection, for smoke extraction from the underground parking garage, and for draining the roof surfaces. The pillars are partially rigidly anchored at the base into the ceilings above the basement. At the top, the pillars are always rigidly connected to what are known as canopies. Their diameters vary between 2.5m and 5m. A distinction is made between main pillars and secondary pillars. The main pillars are each rigidly anchored at the base, while the secondary pillars are hinged at the base.
