The six-storey office building, planned as a mass-timber construction, represents the southern opening of the development at the Harbour Basin A of the Düsseldorf media port. The design principles follow the Cradle to Cradle concept, so that all materials are respected for sustainability and recyclability. The façade is also provided in wooden construction. In front of the façade diagonally arranged glue-laminated columns are protected by a glass layer from the weather and are design driving element of the house. They support the slabs and, together with a massive core inside, form the horizontal bracing. The building grid takes into account the requirements for efficient timber construction and enables the construction of glue-free stacked boards prefab elements. The slabs are supported on timber columns and downstand beams. Only the basement, the core and the ground floor are provided in reinforced concrete construction.
