A 3-story building in the Wharf District in Washington, D.C. It features a geometric exterior steel truss with a jagged look that surrounds a glass box

Project

The “WATER BUILDING ONE”, is part of an urban development project on an area of approx. 10 ha, which extends along the southwest harbor district of Columbia to the historic Washington Canal. The 'Wharf Marina' is a two-storey public multi-purpose building with a Yacht Club on the ground floor – it also provides accommodation for boat crews. The second floor houses a restaurant and a roof terrace. The exposed supporting structure of the building is an important architectural design element that looks like an exoskeleton. The façade is very transparent and allows views over the water sports facility and cosmopolitan district.
