New forward-looking, sustainable campus complex nestled within a forest
Project
The new Tsientang Campus is planned on a 475,000 m² site in southwest Hangzhou, set within a green, hilly landscape on the northern bank of the Tsientang River. The campus is conceived as a forward-looking, sustainable complex nestled in a forest. Buildings are limited to a maximum height of 20 meters to remain below the tree canopy. Transparency and permeability define the design, allowing natural light, views, and movement to flow freely between spaces. Each building will feature a photovoltaic roof, while a centralized energy system ensures greater efficiency and enhances the overall reliability and resilience of the campus.
