New 6-storey building with rammed earth façade, located on the former Heilbronn Federal Garden Show site

Project

On the former site of the Federal Garden Show in Heilbronn, a lively, diverse and innovative district is being created directly on the waterfront – the Neckarbogen quarter. The new 6-storey building with external dimensions of approx. 17 x 19 m comprises several residential units. The recessed top floor allows a roof terrace to be created on the 5th floor. Sustainability and resource-conserving construction play a central role in the planning of the project, with the environmentally friendly rammed earth façade undergoing deliberate surface erosion with a natural ageing process.

Reinforced concrete construction with self-supporting clay façade

STRUCTURE
The 6-storey building with a flat roof is designed as a reinforced concrete structure. Bracing of the building is provided by the staircase and additional concrete walls. The basement is be sealed for high water level and high-quality use. The exterior façade consists of rammed earth elements, which are placed on the ceiling floor by floor. The prefabricated elements have a multi-layered structure with integrated thermal insulation.
