The new construction of the office and reception building of the company Habermaaß GmbH consists of three individual building-components which are combined by a glazed atrium. The construction of the three-storey solid building has been designed as skeleton structure of reinforced concrete with point-supported slabs and bracing cores. The atrium at the heart of the building complex has been realised as self-supporting steel-timber-construction. The 15 m high facades and the 20 m wide span of the atrium roof form a design unit which is disconnected from the solid building by slide bearings to avoid the effect of distortions. A steel-glass bridge comprises the connection to the existing buildings. The bridge was prefabricated completely and lifted into the building to install it within one day. Two of the three building-components have a cellar, whereupon the hydro-geologic circumstances entail the construction of a white tank foundation.
