Expansion of the Uhlandshöhe Waldorf School with a new administration building and a new highschool building

Project

The Waldorf School on Stuttgart's Uhlandshöhe is being expanded with two new buildings: one for administration and another for the upper grades. Both projects incorporate principles of anthroposophical architecture, which goes back to Rudolf Steiner. For example, efforts are made to avoid right angles and to create spaces that are in harmony with nature and the human spirit.

Wood-aluminum windows with fiber cement cladding. New high school building featuring wide-span steel façades and skylights.

Façade Design
The façade of the new administration building consists of a wood-aluminum windows, with some non-right-angled geometries and large-format, statically reinforced windows. The opaque façade areas are clad with fiber cement panels. The new high school building follows this architectural approach but features some wide-span steel façades, a skylight structure, and a roof covered with photovoltaic shingles.
