Sustainable timber housing using local resources in Tanzania
Project
The CheiChei Living project delivers high-quality, sustainable timber-built housing for the lower- and middle-income market in East Africa. By making targeted use of local resources, especially timber, and local craftsmanship, the project creates sustainable buildings and housing concepts that also introduce certifications, establish material cycles, and strengthen the local industry. In total, 20 buildings are being developed, featuring residential units, shops, and workspaces. The first houses have already been completed and occupied.
