Palm Houses - Mainau 2040 Isle of Mainau, Bodensee

We are absolutely thrilled that the fruitful partnership with Cukrowicz Nachbaur Architekten, Transsolar KlimaEngineering and Vogt Landschaftsarchitekten for the "Mainau 2040" competition was awarded with the first prize.
Our contribution on structural and facade engineering consultation on the palm house is integrated into a larger design for the future infrastructure of the Island of Mainau in Lake Constance.
The proposal of a hybrid timber and carbon concrete structure offers a new interpretation of classic greenhouse typologies with a focus on minimizing the carbon footprint of the building.
