Museum of Fine Arts, Kinder Building Houston, Texas, USA

19.11.2020

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston will open its Nancy and Rich Kinder Building to the public.
After many years of providing facade engineering services on this project designed by Steven Holl Architects it is great to see our ideas finally become reality.
The envelope is comprised by multiple geometrically complex glazed clerestoreys with minimized framing and the Cool-Jacket Facade - a facade type composed of rear ventilated bent glass tubes with a translucent interlayer. The Cool-Jacket Facade is controlling both natural lighting as well as the climatic performance of the facade, which was designed together with Transsolar KlimaEngineering.
